Giving Back

Red, White and Tahoe Blue is a collaboration of the following local organizations: The Rotary Club of Tahoe-Incline, The Incline Village Rotary Club, Incline Schools Academic Excellence Foundation (ISAEF). Each collaborator received $13,000 in 2009.

Thank yous from the organizations:

"The ISAEF Board of Directors cannot thank the RWTB Board and the community for the $13,000 donation enough. One half or $6,500 will be deposited in our Education Endowment and the other $6,500 will be equally distributed to the three public schools. You have and will make a difference in our children’s education." -Bill Horn, Chairman

"It was a pleasure to work with the RWTB committee this year. The events were well organized and the fire works were fantastic. The $13,000 we received from the committee will go a long way in helping us achieve our goal of serving the community. Specifically these funds will be earmarked for helping our youth in the community. We actively support the local schools and students including:

- College scholarships
- Rotary Leadership Academy
- Rotary Youth Exchange (foreign exchange students)
- School supplies project for students who cannot afford supplies
- Numerous youth related projects on an as needed basis

We look forward to working with the committee in 2010."
- Dennis Jones, President 2009/2010, Rotary Club of Tahoe-Incline

More about the organizations:

The Rotary Club of Incline Village. "Service above Self" has been the club's mantra from the begining. This club provides avenues to service through vocational opportunities, community service, club service and international service. It is proud of some of its firsts-the Histroical Marker that welcomes visitors to Incline Village, Landscaping for the Community Hospital, Emergency Telephone Service, Scoreboard at the High School Football Staduim, Bus Stop Shelters, Dictionaries for the Elementary School and the Pedestrian Bench Program. The club contributes directly to Project MANA, Tahoe Women's Services, Kids and Horses, Space Science for Schools, Parasol Community Collaboration, Incline High School Rotary Music Contest and the Children's Cabinet.

The Rotary Club of Tahoe Incline. A spin-off of Incline Village Rotary Club, its primary focus is education. Recipients of funds generated through the group's activites are the Boys and Girsl Clubs, Children's Cabinet of Incline Village, Adaptive Ski School, all three public schools, College Scholarship Funds, Sierra Nevada College, Wheeelchairs/Walkers for Mexico, Young Live, African Medical Projects and Tanzania and Uganda Medical Projects.

ISAEF. The Incline Schools Academic Excellence Foundation has migrated from its original mission of collaboration among the three public schools to create an Education Endowment for future generations to utilize and promote the education of Incline Village and Crystal Bay's children. ISAEF currently provides tutoring opportunities for children and continuing education training for teachers. ISAEF is involved in a huge collaboration with Project MANA and American Association of University Women called "Golf Fore Educations." ISAEF's long-term goal is t rais $1.5 million for th Education Endowment.
